Master wood artisans Christine and Ron Sisco of Treestump Woodcrafts believe that fine art can be functional. At Pottery Plus, we couldn't agree more. Treestump Woodcrafts kitchen wares with fine turquoise inlaid in the natural cracks and veins of the wood are proof! Christine Sisco developed the concept of enhancing wood with stone based on the ancient Chinese practices she learned about in art history class. “In the Ming Dynasty, cracks in porcelain were often filled with gold” she explains. Christine and Ron decided to try the same thing with turquoise in their artisan wood works and we think the results are spectacular. With this marriage of wood and turquoise, they have developed a sophisticated line of items for the home, the most popular being spoons and bread boards.
